Intercom Plugin Configuration Guide

This document outlines the information that affiliates need to provide to Telegra to configure the Intercom plugin on the patient dashboard.

Overview

The Intercom integration allows affiliates to provide customer support directly through the Intercom messenger widget on the patient dashboard. This enables patients to communicate with support teams without leaving the Telegra platform.

Prerequisites

Before requesting Intercom integration setup, ensure you have:

  1. An active Intercom account with a workspace set up
  2. Messenger API enabled in your Intercom settings:
    • Go to SettingsChannelsMessengerInstall
    • Toggle on "Enable the Messenger API to continue installation"
    • Toggle on "Enable user traffic for messenger" to start accepting user requests
  3. Admin access to your Intercom workspace to retrieve the App ID

Required Information

To configure the Intercom plugin, provide onboarding support the following:

1. Intercom App ID (Required)

What it is: The unique identifier for your Intercom workspace. This is the primary credential needed to initialize the Intercom messenger widget.

Where to find it:

  • Log in to your Intercom account
  • Navigate to SettingsInstallationInstall Intercom
  • Your App ID will be displayed in the installation code snippet
  • It typically looks like: xxxxxxxx (a string of alphanumeric characters)

Troubleshooting

Issue: Intercom widget not appearing on patient dashboard

  • Solution: Verify that the Messenger API is enabled in your Intercom settings and that user traffic is enabled

Issue: Requests to Intercom failing

  • Solution: Ensure "Enable the Messenger API to continue installation" is toggled on in Intercom settings

Issue: Cannot find App ID

  • Solution: Navigate to Settings → Installation → Install Intercom in your Intercom workspace dashboard
